>> Never did I imagine myself liking or even thinking about wearing clip-on earrings, but it looks like I'm a born-again clip-on liker. What can I say, these sterling silver wing earrings ($253) from Made Her Think converted me. I've always had a thing for wings, but these are especially cool because they go up
the curve of your ear. Check out the rest of their stuff too, it's worth your time.
Posts for February 2006
one, two, three...
>> All together now: Awwwww. Stam looks so cute, doesn't she? Hurrah for another example of a non-run-of-the-mill-cookie-cutter-blah cover.

there's been a sighting!
>> Finally the Lanvin ads are starting to show up... now we all just have to wait for Meg White for Marc Jacobs. Those heels are killer (in a good way), but something about this ad bothers me. Snejana's eyes...they look too big for her head or something.

Ashlee, honey, you do realize your hair is lopsided, right? It's like they were trying to figure out which hairstyle would look better, and forgot to choose one...

she's kind of a big deal
>> Love Vogue UK's marketing strategy: Kate Moss. She was on the September 2005 cover, and now she's on the March 2006 cover (i.e. the two biggest Vogues of the year). Alexandra Shulman, editor of Vogue UK, was recently quoted saying, "I think one of the reasons why Kate Moss has made such a quick re-entry is because people need her. There aren't many models out there who people recognise." She also vowed "to find some new cover personalities." Hopefully she will stick to her words, and this will mark the beginning of a move back to using models more consistently on covers. In any case... presenting Miss Moss in Louis Vuitton.
UPDATE: Here's the rest of the photoshoot from inside.

two rumors and a (sad) truth
>> The rumor: the Internet has been abuzz since yesterday, when Diane Pernet wrote that Hedi Slimane may be moving from Dior Homme to creative control of both the men's and women's collection. Interesting, since I think Pilati is doing well for YSL...
The (sad) truth: WWD is reporting that Roland Mouret will not be showing on the runway during New York Fashion Week for Fall 2006 -- which is his last season with Roland Mouret (the company).
Another rumor: WWD also indicates that Mouret has been in talks with "a number of fashion houses, among them Emanuel Ungaro."
