who would've thought?

>> Hedi Slimane, king of skinny ties and skinny jeans, went through a preppy stage when he was younger -- he insisted on the "perfect polo shirt, the perfect khakis."  I guess we all have fashion moments we regret... That fact and more about Mr. Slimane in an interesting article -- and I do mean interesting (Hedi eats baby food?)-- from the latest New Yorker.

oh where, oh where have my redheads been?

>> Cintia Dicker was noticeably absent from the runways -- I got worried -- she's my favorite redhead.  FWD is reporting that she was just shooting a huge ad campaign rumored to be for L'Oreal.  Could they have scheduled it for a worse time?

Lily_phantasI found a still of Lily Cole from the teaser for Marilyn Manson's upcoming Phantasmagoria -- the movie definitely has me intrigued, but scared as well.

and to think, she's only fourteen

>> I feel like Tanya Dziahileva has been everywhere lately -- on the fall runways, in editorials... and I'm wondering -- will she be the next Gemma Ward?  I'm not sure about her look -- her long blonde hair is gorgeous... but something about her pout bothers me a bit.  She does look nice in this shoot for Numero 70, though.

an american in paris

>>  She's from Berkeley, California, but now calls Paris home.  She's just 24, a Parsons graduate.  She's Erin Fetherston (above, in red), and I've been watching her for a while now.  Her fall collection -- frothy, flirty, feminine -- was shown in a Parisian apartment, with votive candles, white roses, and the models circling the room, mingling with the guests.  But the clothes weren't the only thing debuting that night -- Erin's first fashion film did as well.  Starring Kirsten Dunst.  Filmed by Ellen Von Unwerth.  Big names for a fledging designer to be associated with -- but it doesn't surprise me that Kirsten was involved -- Erin's clothes seem right up her alley.  The film, named "Wendybird" after the collection, sounds beautiful -- in grainy black and white, it tells the story of five uniformed girls discovering a chest of dress-up clothes (all from Erin's collection).  So she's got beautiful clothes, good connections -- did I mention that she's eloquent, too?  What doesn't this girl have?  I'll have to get back to you on that one -- I've got nothing.
