shockingly, even anna has her off days

>> From Bee Shaffer's latest column:  When I was 11 years old and my mother [Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue] was getting ready for the [Costume Institute Ball at the Met] - which that year had a rock and roll theme - she had a Christian Dior haute couture embroidered fur gilet to wear over her dress.

When I was 11 years old and my mother [Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue] was getting ready for the [Costume Institute Ball at the Met] - which that year had a rock and roll theme - she had a Christian Dior haute couture embroidered fur gilet to wear over her dress. Ten minutes before she was due to leave, she put the gilet on, but couldn't close it. Half an hour later, and after her editor-at-large, André Leon Talley, and her hair stylist and her make-up artist had all tried, I gave it a go - and was, of course, able to do it up after one attempt.

That said, I kind of think the off day started when Anna decided to wear an embroidered fur gilet.

   >> Isabelle Azaïs, she makes beautiful innovative jewelry.  And I mean truly innovative -- her sand necklaces are made to look like the ribbing of sand as the tide goes out, her chokers are made of leather discs piled one on top of the other.  Each piece is handmade and unique, and very reasonably priced.  PS.  Her site is in French, but more information on Isabelle and the rest of her collection in English is here.

>> I know you're not supposed to gloat on other people's losses, but I just can't help smiling at this piece of news.  Elle Girl will cease publication as a magazine after its June/July issue, and instead will remain as a redesigned and expanded Ellegirl.com.  Never was an Elle Girl fan... Teen Vogue is so much better.  Not that I'm reading teen magazines or anything...

supes and salad

>>  A pair that goes together quite nicely, don't you think?  Apparently supes and Louis Vuitton also go quite nicely together.  That's right, WWD is reporting that Naomi Campbell and several other (unnamed) supermodels will star in the fall Vuitton ad campaign, which is being photographed today at Pier 59 by Mert and Marcus.

Anything over Lindsay Lohan, right?

In other supe news... Kate Moss just proves the fact that no press is bad press.  She officially signed a new £500,000 deal to advertise Calvin Klein jeans yesterday, going back to the label that launched her career.
