>> Now that the Oscars are over, the countdown begins for May and the Costume Institute Gala, more affectionately known as the Fashion Oscars.  The featured designer for this year is Paul Poiret, the man credited with liberating women by doing away with corsets and bringing in pantaloons.  I just wanted to post the preview picture the Metropolitan Museum of Art has put up for their accompanying Poiret exhibit because the beading on this gauze and lame dress is absolutely fit for a queen.   Can you imagine how beautiful it must be in person?

>>  I know you all have been patiently waiting for a video clip of Coco Rocha's Celtic dance that opened up Gaultier's Fall 2007 show.   Fear not, one has finally turned up.  We knew that Miss Coco poses well with her mouth open, but who knew that she could kick that high?

>>  Bring on the flares! I've been feeling the seventies for a while now, so a sudden penchant for Levi's flares was bound to happen eventually.  I've already got the seventies fringe going with some red-brown Minnetonka booties, which do look great paired with black tights, but flares and the booties would just be the most, don't you think? 
Anyway, it's nice to know I'm not alone in grooving to the seventies -- Cathy Horyn gushed yesterday about Lara Stone, whose gap-tooth/blonde hair combination totally remind me of that seventies model Lauren Hutton.
