miu miu shoes: they never fail me

>> I'm finding that 99.9% of the shows this season I need time to digest.  I don't like them at first glance, but sometimes if I let them roll around in my head for a while, they grow on me.  One thing I don't need time for: deciding that I love the new Miu Miu shoes.   Frilly and frumpy, rolled into one, I love the spectator colorblocking.  P.S.  Should I worry that I've broken something in my brain because I'm attracted to this cross between a cardigan and a leotard (carditard?  leogan?) ?

bringing a little bit of the old into the new

>>  Olivier Theyskens and his gowns make me swoon.  Always.  Whether Mr. Theyskens is designing under the House of Rochas or the House of Nina Ricci, his trademark romantic style always translates best into floor-length gowns.  The diagonal hemming and seaming inspired by the Nina Ricci L'air Du Temps perfume bottle that was so beautiful in the his pre-Fall collection carried over into the Fall/Winter 2007 collection in sigh-inducing stiff chiffons and taffetas.   Topping off the looks were single ostrich strand hair extensions, a genius idea that added a wood nymph quality to the already ethereal collection.  I think it's safe to say that while Mr. Theyskens could work on honing his casualwear to match his gown expertise, he seems to be right at home in his new fashion house.
