Fendi Fall 08 Deliveries

It might not be as voluptuously fur-trimmed as some of what we saw on the runway but the Fall 08 Fendi deliveries are still quite luxurious. Boots that are so tall they act as actual suede trousers, a cozy knit sweater with structured shoulder pleating, a sweater skirt with multiple layers, or an evening clutch with the tiniest folds of fabric. There is no way, in these clothes, you won't look like the million bucks you just spent.
Spring 2009 at J.Crew and Madewell
Now that the madness of the Spring 2009 shows are mostly over we are free to focus on what more fashion retailers will be focusing on for the increasingly tricky to forecast Spring 2009 recession season. Women's Wear Daily had a special preview of J. Crew and Madewell for Spring 2009. that they said was all about contrasts and closet-raiding. Typical J.Crew fare like slouchy menswear blazers and vintage detailing (reinvented with jacquard) was contrasted with a muted color palette of mint greens and nudes that made it a more typically trendy collection than J.Crew's formerly bright saturated preppy image. it was a pleasing set of collections from creative director Jenna Lyons.

Its going to be tough to call models human clothes hangers come spring as the new exhibit at The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art is titled The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion. The show aims to explore fashion, and the changing ideals of beauty that accompanied different eras. The exhibit, open to the public from May 6 to Aug. 9, will be held at the museum’s Tisch Galleries. And of course it will open with the customary The Costume Institute annual gala benefit. Marc Jacobs will serve as the night’s honorary chair, alongside co-chairs Kate Moss, Justin Timberlake and Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
Tom Ford's production company Fade to Black is send to be finishing pre-production on its first film. Ford is expected to start filming his first feature, titled “A Single Man,” in Los Angeles early next month.
