Valentine's Day

London Turns Out A Little Opulence

We'll have the Jenny Packham Fall 08 show to you shortly and here's a sneak peek from backstage.

We'll have the Jenny Packham Fall 08 show to you shortly and here's a sneak peek from backstage. Looks like the London red's are still turning up as the week continues and though many designers from London Fashion Week are presenting much darker, more sinister collections, opulence is bound to turn up somewhere. The Packham show should be quite romantic (the woman does bridal wear for god sakes), and dare we say it, appropriate to show on Valentine's Day.

Brains On Fire

We first bumped into this awesome t-shirt line back when we popped into the Love Brigade look book shoot.

We first bumped into this awesome t-shirt line back when we popped into the Love Brigade look book shoot. Brains on Fire, the, er, brainchild of Matt Landon, is one of our favorite t-shirt companies for one simple reason: rather than being confined by the front and center, Landon's silk screens stretch beyond the allotted logo-zone. Yes, it's as simple as that. The result of this freedom make the t-shirts seem more like proper garments especially since the prints themselves are abstract, with slight variances in color and pattern (this 'aint no Urban Outfitters stockpile). Tuck one of these suckers into a slick pair of trousers and top it off with a bowler hat or tailored jacket and you're practically wearing a blouse, except you're a million times more chilled out and comfortable.

Interview: Just Another Rich Kid

Ken Courtney's t-shirts draw on pop culture without being entirely sincere nor overtly ironic.

Ken Courtney's t-shirts draw on pop culture without being entirely sincere nor overtly ironic. His shirts are actually quite funny which works out well because the sort of people who spend a hundred dollars on their t-shirts, definitely have a sense of humor. For a nicely fit, high quality cotton t-shirt, with a print that says a lot with a little bit of space, it's not like we think the purchase isn't justified. In fact, Just Another Rich Kid t-shirts really move beyond 'basics' because, though appropriate as layering pieces, they're just as fit to be strong-minded garments with some major real estate in your closet. After the jump, Ken Courtney gives us the break-down of his collection and the other aspects of his brand, namely his killer blog and designs beyond t-shirts. read more
