miuccia does the slide
>> Miuccia Prada loves her art as much as the next designer — maybe even more, considering that she's about to build a new headquarters to house her 500 piece contemporary art collection.
My favorite piece of art she's commissioned, however, is The Slide No. 5, a transparent slide by German artist Carsten Höller that connects Miuccia's Milanese office to the parking lot below. Finally, a picture of the much-storied tube — isn't it funny to imagine Miuccia hopping in it and whooshing down, curls flapping behind her?

another model/actress
>> Another familiar face has been revealed as a participant to Vogue Italia's all-black-model issue: Liya Kebede (left). She's shooting with Steven Meisel today, and then heading off to Europe in June for another movie role.
This time, the role will be a stretch. She'll be playing Somalian model Waris Dirie (right), who was the face of Chanel Allure perfume and appeared in the Pirelli calendar twice.
The movie, Desert Flower, is based on Waris' autobiography of the same name which chronicles her childhood in the Somali desert, her entrance into modeling, and her role as a United Nations spokeswoman against circumcision.
Waris most recently made headlines for a brief disappearance in March. Another fun fact: She's Iman's cousin.

>> It still hasn't been determined whether Nina Garcia will be seen anymore at the Elle offices, but one place you can definitely see her this week: on Thursday's episode of Ugly Betty. Here's a sneak peek of her guest appearance, complete with that ubiquitous Proenza Schouler safari vest.

>> Those rumors about Frances Bean Cobain being the next face of Chanel which first surfaced in January and are now circling anew? Not true.

SheFinds Shoutout: Walk Tall
We love a good pair of shoes. So far be it from us to be judgmental but we find something vaguely unsettling about SheFinds post about the YSL Tribute platform sandal. "These YSL Tribute Sandals are not just something to work for, but almost a lifestyle to aspire to." Now we are familiar with the concept of cab to curb heels, or Limo Heels as our community partner likes to call them, but the idea of aspiring to a life in which one traipses without ever spending time pounding pavement seems a bit sad. We personally love walking down the sidewalk in towering heels. Even if after a few blocks we will duck into an ally and change into our flats. Aspire to walk tall not cab often we say.
