UPDATE: More dish on Stylista — the contestants work as assistants to Anne Slowey, not Joe Zee as previously reported.

UPDATE: More dish on Stylista — the contestants work as assistants to Anne Slowey, not Joe Zee as previously reported. Each episode, the competitors have one assistant task and a fashion editorial assignment, and each week, in consultation with Joe Zee, Anne fires one person. The final standing assistant standing wins a paid editorial position at Elle, a paid lease on an apartment in Manhattan, and a clothing allowance at H&M, all for one year, valued at $100,000.

promotional photos for Stylista (which has been renamed again from Fashionista), the Tyra Banks-produced reality show in which 11 contestants compete for a job at Elle, have appeared, and they definitely look pretty Tyra-fying.  No sign of creative director Joe Zee yet, but there's plenty of Fashion News Director Anne Slowey to go around.  See, Nina, this is what you're missing!

alt denied lunch by satc

>> Andre Leon Talley isn't the only member of the Vogue staff to appear in the upcoming Sex and the City movie.  As part of a scene which involves Carrie Bradshaw being photographed for a fictional Age Issue of Vogue, stylist Lawren Howell (who previously made a cameo on The Hills) helps Andre drape the dresses, and Contributing Editor Plum Sykes reports for the accompanying story.  Meanwhile, Anna Wintour is there in spirit: She picked all the couture dresses that are in the fictional photoshoot personally.

Satc >> Andre Leon Talley isn't the only member of the Vogue staff to appear in the upcoming Sex and the City movie.

Patrick Demarchelier "shoots" the editorial, and off-camera, Andre Leon Talley makes stylistic decisions on accessories — gloves to go with the Vera Wang wedding dress? "We want to see her putting them on."  And earrings?  "Not too big."

When ALT asks for lunch on the set, however, it's more of a problem. "He is told he has to work for eight hours — till 5:00 p.m. — before he can eat. This is not what happens on a Vogue shoot, he tells [director Michael Patrick] King, pursing and twisting his lips in a way that says, I have better things to do than not eat lunch," reports Plum Sykes.

Yikes.

But ALT must have gotten his lunch eventually, because he ended on a good note, screaming, 'This is fashion!' into the video monitor.  Good times.

For more good times, a clip of that segment of the movie . . .

lazareanu-less

>> Notably missing from the cast of last night's Christian Dior Resort 2009 show was Irina Lazareanu, especially because she showed up at the 24th Annual Infinity Awards in New York instead (left).  She was definitely in town, and usually walks Dior shows — most recently on the Fall 2008 runway — so did she decide to skip, or was she just not cast?

>> After Dior's candy-colored Nan Kempner-inspired extravagance last night, the editors have to head to Miami for Chanel's cruise collection on Thursday.  Karl and his team have already taken over the Raleigh Hotel, where the show is set, and one of his personal sketches of the location has appeared (left).  Also surfacing is the front row guest list — all of Karl's current favorites are  expected to be in attendance: Diane Kruger, Anna Mouglalis, Zoe Kravitz, and Cat Power.
