Trashbag Aesthetics is rocking an American Apparel Baby Rip Cross Back Summer Dress. She says it is basic, beautiful and perfectly cool for the hotter than Hades weather that is plaguing the Eastern Seaboard. The criss-cross action that has been bouncing through the blogosphere prompted us to search for our own cross dress on our beloved Shopstyle. The gods of fashion smiled on us as we found this silk jersey sleeveless dress with gathered waist and cross front from Barney's on sale. The perfect peach color is drew us like a moth to a flame and the half off price tag of $250 sealed the deal. It is a perfect immaterial obsession if there ever was one.
Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann Drives David Letterman to Eat Lancome Powder
>> Best known for being the face of Lancome and holding green causes close to her heart (and maybe being Isabella Rosselini's daughter and Ingrid Bergman's granddaughter, too), Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann made an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman to talk about all of the aforementioned.
When she revealed she's going to London School of Economics in the Fall to study for a master's degree in biomedicine, David replied: "I don't even know what that means, "life medicine"?" Funnily enough, Elettra agreed: "I don't either, that's the ironic thing." But best of all is at the end, when David whips out a "Lancome powder compact" and starts to eat the "makeup" because it "smells delicious." Looks like the joke is on Elettra .

We personally find that trying on swimsuits in a store is a sure way to feel depressed about your body no matter how much time to dedicate to pilates. The glare of the lights, the way even the tiniest bit of cellulite makes you look like you have an orange for an ass, and the all too often condescending attitudes of the sales girls don't exactly make swimsuit shopping the traditional way a real blast. We are particularly enamored of the Everything but Water Monokini. The bikini has been a tricky subject as of late which makes our interest in the monokini somewhat controversial. But we can't help but share a few of our favorites.

Lebanese couturier Elie Saab is designing signature luxury hotels with Dubai real estate developer Tatweer, starting with a high-end boutique hotel at The Tiger Woods Dubai resort. This adds Saab to a growing list of fashion designer or firms such as Giorgio Armani, Christian Lacroix, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo and Bulgari, who all have or are developing luxury hotel projects.

Express decides to go all Mise en abyme thanks to Lloyd (+ Co) and their Peter Lindbergh shot advertising campaign. And while we like to make a little Hamlet joke it feels just a little too Ophelia. The concept of the campaign — models cavorting on the beach — is only part of the story. What are those tripods doing on the beach, and that fan? Express wants to give viewers the feeling of being behind the scenes at a photo shoot. The campaign's conceit is to have the gear used to make fashion images, such as backdrops, light stands and cables, intentionally visible in each shot.
