For obvious reasons, trousers are a main topic of conversation when it comes to menswear and this Fall 09 there is no shortage of trends cropping up. For starters, we think cuffed trousers will remain a big hit in menswear. This season the style appeared on the Neil Barrett, Frankie Morello, and Alessandro Dell'Acqua catwalks and was hinted at on the Missoni and Gucci catwalks with not cuffed, but ankle-grazing lengths.
We've just returned from the Capsule trade show where the coolest contemporary and designer men's brands are showing off their Fall 2009 offerings. Walking between the four floors of stalls were the buying teams from Opening Ceremony, Odin, OAK, and a slew of other well-known New York stores. Later this week we'll be bringing you some highlights from the event. Until then, check out the atmosphere at the show.
Remember all of that lovely graphic beachwear from the Michael Kors Spring 2009 runway show? Well, it's poised to hit shelves very soon now. Our favorites are a high waisted two piece with a navy and white zig zag print (about $270). It looks fabulous on the hanger (and runway) even though we're a little skeptical of this silhouette in bathing suit form. Also stand-out are a pair of 100% silk harem pants that are meant for coverup but would be just fine with heels and a casual blouse. They come in yellow, red, navy, and white and will retail for about $350. Check out a few of our snapshots from the showroom below.
