>> Hannah MacGibbon has received mixed reviews for her past Chloe collections — even drawing inspiration from her own closet for her predominantly earth-toned pieces — but she has at least one fan in Chloe Sevigny, who met MacGibbon back when she was working for Phoebe Philo, and has been spotted frequently in a scalloped Chloe blazer: "I am so glad Hannah is back. I think Chloé was missing a feminine touch, and with my body it's hard to do the tomboy thing. I feel more comfortable dressing like a woman." Ironically, pictures from Hannah's Cruise 2010 collection for Chloe and Phoebe's collection for Celine showed up on the same day; the former continues along the same lines as her work in the past, riding the masculine-feminine line with a little shock of poppy red.
Posts for June 11th 2009
>> INSIDER WIRE —Kate Moss has been pretty off the radar since she hosted the Costume Institute Gala last month . . . until she popped up today at the Topshop offices. Maybe a vacation was in order, but she also worked at least a little, shooting an upcoming W cover — September 2009, perhaps — with Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott on May 22. More recently, the magazine photographed Lara Stone, Guinevere van Seenus, and Edita Vilkeviciute at a country house with a lake outside of London. [Sophynails Twitter, Sophynails Twitter]
Liya Kebede, Chloe Sevigny Wig Out for Proenza Schouler's Cruise 2010 Film
>> Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are showing their Cruise 2010 collection on June 18 in Florence as part of the Pitti W pre-collection event — their first time presenting abroad — and instead of a runway, they've invited three performance artists to interpret their collection. Interview has details from the designers on one of the interpretations — gender-bending performance artist Kalip Linzy's video guest-starring Chloe Sevigny and Liya Kebede, who will be wearing wigs: "He cast several characters that are in real life important collaborators of Proenza Schouler. The merging of all these worlds, we believe, is a more interesting format to showcase the collection." The Imagist got his hands on a couple of stills from the film — one below, the other here.

>> INSIDER WIRE —A number of companies are in a state of flux — Versace, Aquascutum, and Christian Lacroix among them — now add Luella to the list. Designer Luella Bartley is said to be restructuring her company, and may be parting with Club 21, which holds her brand's license for ready-to-wear and accessories. Sources tell WWD Luella may in fact be looking to take back control of her label. [WWD]
First Taste of Phoebe Philo at Celine for Cruise 2010
>> Phoebe Philo showed her first collection since 2005 — and her first collection for Celine — today at a loft space in Chelsea. Style.com deemed the outing — which is full of Philo's muted, miltary color-filled palette and simple effective shapes — "confident" and "spot-on."
Phoebe, for her part, explained of the Cruise 2010 collection: "It's not about total looks. After my break, and with Celine in various different hands these last years, it felt better for me to work on an idea of a wardrobe than too much on trends. October will be for that. The collection is about interchangeable investment pieces. I worked hard to create things that will stand the test of time." The shoes, for sure, will be invested in by many as soon as they hit stores.
>> THE MODELIZER —Natalia Vodianova has a three-year contract to design lingerie seasonally for Etam, and now she's expanding her design repertoire for a guest stint at Lutz & Patmos for their Pre-Spring 2010 collection. As for Anne Vyalitsyna, her affair as a red-head was short-lived — she tweeted yesterday: "Goodbye [sic] my beautiful red! Going back to blonde! Sad so sad!" [WWD, Anne Vyalitsyna Twitter]
Preen Resort 2010

Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi's Resort collection for their label, Preen, was focused on cool dressing and sex appeal. That meant clothing was either slinky and loose or tight and short--both foolproof combinations for an it-girl. Modeled by Tatiana Cotliar, who bears a resemblance to Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, the collection reworked some of Preen's most popular designs.
Raquel Zimmermann Shows Off Razor Sharp Cheekbones for Giorgio Armani Fall 2009 Campaign
>> Giorgio Armani has niece Roberta Armani increasingly stepping in for him in the public eye as a brand ambassador and just released the newest set of underwear ads featuring David Beckham this morning, but the brand face we're most interested in is Raquel Zimmermann, whose Fall 2009 ads for Armani — the first of many for her this season — are starting to pop up. The same team was used for Fall 2009 as for Spring 2009: stylist Katy England with Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, but Raquel replaces Sasha Pivovarova as the face of the brand.

>> THE MODELIZER —Chanel Iman posed for the May 2009 issue of Vogue with her boyfriend, rapper Tyga, but it sounds like that relationship is no more; She tweeted today: "Been single for a while feeling so good!!" Chanel was also feeling chatty last night at Men.Style.com's Women of Fashion 2009 party — she waxed lyrical on high heels, where she wants to be in the future, and her friend Kanye West, treating The Cut with what they term a "memorable" conversation.
