>> Unauthorized Miuccia Prada Biography Reportedly Taking Italy By Storm —Vita Prada, an unauthorized biography on Miuccia Prada which was released in Italy just before the holidays, is reportedly a bestseller in the country.  The book, written by journalist Gian Luigi Paracchini, who covered fashion for twelve years at Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, chronicles how Miuccia first met future husband Patrizio Bertelli at a trade fair — he was selling bags, and she told him: "You're ripping off my bags."  And of course, the infamous moment when Patrizio, known for his temper, reportedly smashed the mirrors in a Miu Miu store "because they make everybody look fat" is included.  Miuccia's reaction to the book? Apparently: "I don't think I'm as big a b*tch as you think, but I had fun reading it." [Opera Chic]

>> Longtime editorial stylist Venetia Scott, who's been photographing for magazines for the past five years and moonlights as creative director for both Marc Jacobs (she styles the show) and Marc by Marc Jacobs (she's involved in researching color choices, fabrics, and prints), told Ponystep recently that despite their contribution to her livelihood, magazines are failing to intrigue her:

"I find magazines less and less interesting — I don’t really buy magazines or look at magazines. I mean I’ve got a twelve year old [daughter with ex-husband Juergen Teller] and we were talking about it yesterday — she’ll go on the internet and probably look at something like your [online] magazine [Ponystep] more. She would not ever go to a newsagent and buy a magazine. And even here when we get sent ones that I’ve got work in, she’s not really interested in it. In a way I’m doing less editorial because it seems a bit tired now."

>> Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld is working hard to make a name as a "curator" or "art tailor," as he reportedly prefers to be called — he's formed a company, Feedback Ltd., is renting an office in Manhattan's artcentric Chelsea neighborhood, and is hiring an assistant.  All three of his art shows have gone down in New York City — two of them coinciding with Fashion Week — and next up, he plans to work again with artist Richard Hambleton for an exhibition in Milan, followed by another show with an as yet unnamed artist in New York, reports The New York Observer.

Despite growing up amongst the fashion world, which is, needless to say, enamored with the idea of exclusivity, Restoin-Roitfeld doesn't seem so taken by the concept when it comes to his approach:

“I was going to different exhibitions and it always had this feeling of a closed circle, and it was something very hard to enter for many. So I thought if I just did it in a different way, I could capture the interest of a different crowd of people. I just decided to rent very large spaces and invite a huge crowd of people and present art that I believe to be amazing and just make it more fun and open-minded.”
