>> Karl Lagerfeld Confirmed to Design for Hogan While Namesake Label Hangs in Balance —Karl Lagerfeld has confirmed earlier speculation that he will design a one-off collection for Hogan next Spring; the future of his signature line, however, is not so certain. The Lagerfeld label, a subsidiary of Tommy Hilfiger since 2005, was not part of the Hilfiger acquisition earlier this week by Phillips-Van Heusen, and will be retained by former Hilfiger owners Apax. Of Lagerfeld, Apax partner Christian Stahl said: "It’s not commercially the best brand in the world, but in terms of appeal and recognition, I think it’s a great brand. We’re going to focus on it and develop it.” But he's not denying that Apax will try to sell the label: “Every company we own is for sale.” [Style File, WWD]

W Magazine to Get an Editor-in-Chief

>> Conde Nast announced today that all editorial and business operations for W magazine will be moved out of the Fairchild Fashion Group, which currently includes WWD, WWD.com, and Footwear News among its purveyance.

>> Conde Nast announced today that all editorial and business operations for W magazine will be moved out of the Fairchild Fashion Group, which currently includes WWD, WWD.com, and Footwear News among its purveyance. The senior editorial staff currently shared by W and WWD now exclusively work for WWD, and Patrick McCarthy, chairman of the Fairchild Fashion Group, will continue in his role through the end of the year.

Conde Nast CEO Chuck Townsend noted of the restructuring: “This formally establishes a structure for W consistent with our other consumer magazine titles, and allows FFG the autonomy to focus on their core business-to-business publications and related businesses.” Thomas J. Wallace, editorial director of Conde Nast, will name an editor-in-chief of W in the coming months. Fashionista suggests that internal options for the job include W's executive editor Bridget Foley or deputy editor Julie Belcove, who currently writes the editor's letter, but it's also a strong possibly that with the sharp decrease in advertising sales the magazine experienced last year (down 45.8 percent), a new face may be brought on.

>> Last week, rumors of a major shift in the New York modeling agency setup floated around; eventually, it came out that Paul Rowland, the founder of Women Management and its Supreme offshoot, was leaving Supreme to head up the women's division at Ford.

According to Page Six's industry insider, Rowland, who sold the company which he founded in 1988 a few years ago, "had a huge salary there, but wasn't really getting along with management. So basically, he just left." Ford "cleaned house and canned everyone," says another source, to make way for Rowland and the agents he was bringing with him.

Caroline Poznanski, meanwhile, who ran Ford's women's division until Rowland's arrival, has been chosen by Supreme to take Rowland's old job. "It's one big game of musical chairs," reports the source. "There were rumors around that Supreme was just going to close, but instead they hired Poznanski and absorbed some other people who had been let go from Ford."

One booker notes: "The models at these places are in a tailspin. A lot, including [Ford girls] Chanel Iman and Jacquelyn Jablonski, don't know if they're staying or going. There will likely be a spate of lawsuits because both Paul and Caroline are trying to bring their girls over, but they have noncompetes in their contracts."
