Costa, who is rumored to have chosen Lara Stone to represent a number of the Calvin Klein lines come Fall, has also reportedly done away with casting size 0-2 models in favor of size 2-4 models. Earlier this week Lacoste hosted a pool party during day two of the desert music festival in Indio and invited a few fashionable friends. Kristen Stewart, Rachel Bilson, Emile Hirsch, Lake Bell, Camilla Belle, Paul Walker, and Alexa Chung (who said having good underwear was the ultimate Coachella must-have) were all in attendance scooping up Lacoste gear, playing bocce, and listening to special guests Vampire Weekend and DJ Tennessee Thomas. Lacoste also sponsored peace program The Voice Project at the event, with on-site studios for talent to record live sessions for the charitable foundation.
Design Week in Milan saw the unveiling of Versace’s 2010 Home collection. Donatella Versace's current furniture and glass home decor line is colorful, over-the-top, and exactly what you would expect from the more-is-more Milanese fashion designer. The Sunburst round table with chromed metal legs (above), ornate multicolored armchairs, and Baroque-inspired pillows will all be available in Versace stores this fall along with a blown glassware collection in collaboration with Italian brand Venini (below).
>> "Estrella Archs announces that she has left her job as chief designer of Emanuel Ungaro due to irreconcilable differences related to the creative direction of the brand," a spokesperson for the designer confirmed today. Archs's departure corroborates news that Ungaro is looking for a new designer.
Giles Deacon, who was spotted having lunch on Friday with Ungaro owner Asim Abdullah, has emerged as a likely possibility, although Ungaro declined comment. As of yesterday, sources told WWD a contract with a new designer had yet to be signed.
The brand is reportedly looking to have a more solid design direction and aims to achieve sustainability by 2011; a new designer would mark the fifth creative director for the brand in as many years.
