>> There's little change in Yves Saint Laurent's usual campaign formula for Fall 2010 — supermodel shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin — but this time, the duo is working with Daria Werbowy, who van Lamsweerde recently named among her favorite models to work with, along with Raquel Zimmermann, Kate Moss, and Anja Rubik: "They all have this huge range. They’re mature, they’re grown up, they’re women who have had a life and experience. For about five or six years now we haven’t shot anyone under 18 for that reason, but also for the fact that we feel that the modeling business should not promote girls working under 18. They’re not out of school, their bodies aren’t developed yet, they don’t have a sense of self yet, sometimes they haven’t had sex yet. It’s hard to project all these things on someone who hasn’t had that experience."

Named La Perla Designer Collection, Jean Paul Gaultier's first official lingerie line will make its debut during the designer's upcoming haute couture show. On July 7 in Paris, Gaultier will showcase two limited-edition pieces for La Perla—an elaborately constructed satin bra and a garter belt. Having put Madonna in a cone bra in the '90s, it was clear the designer still had lingerie on his mind when he reintroduced the famous silhouette on his fall runway as outerwear pieces.

“I met Jean Paul Gaultier a few months ago, and we immediately hit it off because we shared a common vision of beauty, style, taste and quality. So we agreed to try this adventure together and unite our savoir faire,” said Alain Prost, chief executive officer of La Perla.

Look out for Gaultier's 27-style capsule collection of mostly handmade corsets, high-waisted briefs, bodysuits, and bras done in pink and black in La Perla and Jean Paul Gaultier stores this November. The collaboration is reportedly a two-year affair and will include swimwear next March.

>> Turkish Designer Hakaan Yildirim Takes Home 2010 ANDAM Prize —After one London Fashion Week show, Hakaan is moving into the big leagues, scoring ANDAM's €220,000 prize (approx. $270,000, up €60,000 from last year's prize) for 2010. It doesn't hurt that Hakaan has friend and collaborator Mert Alas in his corner: Carine Roitfeld, who headed up this year's ANDAM jury, came to London specifically for Hakaan's show on the advice of Alas. Alas likely also had something to do with the show's all-star cast of Lara Stone, Natalia Vodianova, Mariacarla Boscono, Natasha Poly, and Anja Rubik. The series of imaginary colorful landscapes used as background in Miuccia Prada's resort presentation spoke to the traveling gypsy theme of Prada's collection, as did the vividly hued costume jewelry—oversize hoop earrings in yellow, green, and red and armfuls of lightweight glass bangles. The clothes, however, stood firmly in the polished eras of the '30s and '40s with wallpaper prints on calf-length dresses paired with fur stoles and structured handbags. Pumps with faux coral and beaded embellishments mixed with neutral platform sandals and backless flats with ballerina ribbons in a collection where accessories most definitely took center stage.
