Inez van Lamsweerde Works With One of Her Favorites, Daria Werbowy, for Yves Saint Laurent's Fall 2010 Campaign

They’re mature, they’re grown up, they’re women who have had a life and experience. For about five or six years now we haven’t shot anyone under 18 for that reason, but also for the fact that we feel that the modeling business should not promote girls working under 18. They’re not out of school, their bodies aren’t developed yet, they don’t have a sense of self yet, sometimes they haven’t had sex yet. It’s hard to project all these things on someone who hasn’t had that experience."

Take a Peek at Madonna and Lola's New Line

Yesterday, editors had the chance to take a sneak peek at the items available in Madonna and her daughter Lourdes's new clothing line Material Girl. Despite fatigue at yet another celebrity clothing line, their creations were quite nice — the intended demographic is buyers around the age of 13-year-old Lourdes, who everyone calls Lola. There were low-priced blazers and skinny jeans to pair with a sensible button-down and canvas oxfords. Those with more of an edge, though, might be drawn to mini corsets and sequined hot-pants, but those probably aren't wise choices for the first day of ninth grade. The whole collection has heavy Madonna undertones, with crosses, black lace, and tulle popping up throughout. The first shipment is expected to arrive in Macy's this August, with new installments to follow monthly.

First Look: Tory Burch Shoots Denim Campaign on the High Line in New York

As we reported earlier this month, Tory Burch is focused on her first major denim collection.

As we reported earlier this month, Tory Burch is focused on her first major denim collection.

The New York-based designer is expanding her ready-to-wear offering this fall with an ambitious workwear lineup featuring jeans, skirts, shirts, jackets, and corduroys in multiple fits (super skinny, straight leg, legging, trouser) and a variety of interesting washes. In addition to your everyday denim finds, Burch has created a custom metallic paint wash and a colorful dip-dyed print (seen here on the runway during the Tory Burch fall presentation).

As part of the new business push, Tory Burch and crew photographed models Lisa Winkler and Danielle Z yesterday in the Meatpacking District's High Line park for the denim category's advertising images. Art directors take note, the High Line, once closed to photo and video permits, is now open for business. See our exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot in the gallery below.
