>> H&M is taking Spring's white-out trend to a whole new level with its upcoming Conscious Collection, which uses eco-friendly textiles like organic cotton and recycled polyester. The range of light-hued pieces, ranging from flirty cotton eyelet dresses — perfect for Central Park frolicking — to streamlined blazers for the working girl, drops in stores on April 14.
>> Jean Paul Gaultier was all about classic with a twist for his Pre-Fall 2011 collection. The twist — edgy embellishments — came in the form of double waistband trousers, ruched pinstriped blazers, and zipper-adorned fur coats. However, the collection's piece de resistance was a double-duty red dress, which can be transformed into a long gown or short cocktail dress by simply unhooking a loop.
>> We can't slip into a pair of breezy sandals or peep-toe booties for another (tortuous) couple of months, but there's no harm in checking out what's available so when the weather's ready, we're ready, too. Our favorite pairs — ranging from Alaia stitched sandals to Miu Miu striped ballet flats — are sure to take you from a freezing 24 degrees to the high 70s in no time at all (we hope). The Groundhog did predict an early Spring, after all.
>> Candice Swanepoel has been Victoria's Secret's go-to girl in the last few months — she was on the brand's holiday and swim catalog covers, and figured prominently into last year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show as well. After Mario Testino shot her for VMAN's Winter 2010 issue (declaring, “Candice is an amazing new find for me. Gorgeous, free, fun. I decided to do the whole trip on her visiting Denmark. She was awesome and did not feel inhibited. She made the shoot an amazing experience. The guys were in awe of her.”), many guessed that she was well on her way to being the next Victoria's Secret Angel to cross over into high fashion.
And it seems like that's the plan. She's on GQ UK's February 2011 cover with a smattering of fellow Victoria's Secret models, but she also just popped up on the February 2011 Vogue Italia cover — quite the coup — shot by Steven Meisel and styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele. Will we see her on a choice (non-Victoria's Secret) runway next?
>> APC is known for its minimal mastery, and the label's Spring 2011 lookbook offers up more of their wear-everywhere basics. The collection — now available online — features sunny options such as bold striped tees, denim shirts, and a range of colorful cotton pants. And if you're looking for a statement piece, a bold blue shirtdress and leather shorties will definitely do the trick.
>> Kate Moss was spotted wearing a brand-new diamond ring on her ring finger today — and although she's worn diamond rings on that finger in the past (and been rumored to be engaged a number of times before), The Sun is reporting that she plans to marry her boyfriend Jamie Hince on July 2. A spokesperson for Moss's agency, Storm Models, didn't deny the reports: "We are making no comment. That may change later in the day, but at the moment there is no comment."
Apparently Hince, 40, proposed in bed on Tuesday night after Moss, 37, had turned out the lights to go to sleep, presenting her with a vintage 1920s engagement ring; Moss's daughter, Lila Grace Hack, is said to be acting as maid of honor. Moss and Hince were introduced by mutual friend Sadie Frost at one of his The Kills' gigs in September 2007.
