Marilyn Monroe Explains That Quote About Wearing Chanel No. 5 to Bed

Legend has it that Marilyn Monroe wore nothing but "a few drops of Chanel No.

Legend has it that Marilyn Monroe wore nothing but "a few drops of Chanel No. 5" to bed, but it was only last month that the world got an explanation for her famous quote.

"You know they ask you questions," Monroe said during an April 1960 interview with French journalist Georges Belmont. "Just an example: 'What do you wear to bed? Do you wear a pajama top, the bottoms of the pajamas, or a nightgown?' So I said, 'Chanel No. 5!' Because it's the truth! And yet I don't want to say 'nude,' you know? But it's the truth."

The rest of the interview made it into an issue of Marie Claire, but the bit about Chanel wasn't used in the article. In October, Chanel uncovered the recording of the interview and used it to make the fascinating video below.

Minnie Mouse Turns Supermodel in Barneys' Electric Holiday

After months of teasing us with sketches and screenshots, Barneys has finally released its animated short film Electric Holiday.

After months of teasing us with sketches and screenshots, Barneys has finally released its animated short film Electric Holiday. And as promised, the five-minute clip features just as many industry luminaries as beloved Disney characters.

The film sees Minnie Mouse daydreaming over a Lanvin dress in a store window. Her imagination takes her to Paris where, after a day of getting her picture taken by people like Steven Klein and Mario Sorrenti, she gets to wear the dress in a high profile fashion show. Franca Sozzani, Sarah Jessica Parker, Glenda Bailey, and Cathy Horyn sit and watch her from the front row, where she's joined by Cruella de Vil (in Rick Owens) and Daphne Duck (in Dolce & Gabbana).

Electric Holiday is the centerpiece of the Barneys Holiday 2012 retail project of the same name. The products are online and in stores now, and the film can be seen below.

Lara Stone Pregnant With First Child

Lara Stone is the newest member of the model moms club.

Lara Stone is the newest member of the model moms club. She and her husband comedian David Walliams have announced they're expecting a baby.

"Some wonderful news," Walliams tweeted Thursday morning. "My beautiful wife Lara is pregnant. We are having a baby! It is due next year and we both couldn't be happier."

In a separate statement, the couple said they were "both absolutely thrilled but ask you to please respect our privacy during this precious time."

So far Stone has yet to comment on the news. When she got engaged to Walliams in 2010, Stone told Interview she wanted to be a mother — she was just waiting for the right time.

"I'm not really good at making plans so I don't have any definite plans for the future," she said. "I would love to have a family and kids at some point, but not right now. I'll probably keep [modeling] for a while because it's going pretty well. I guess we'll have to see."

Margherita Missoni's Vintage Sale on Yoox.com

Margherita Missoni's legions of fans across the world have a chance to buy pieces of her eclectic wardrobe — and to support a good cause in the process.

Starting today, the ecommerce site will offer over 70 pieces from Missoni's vintage collection, including accessories, separates, and gowns, that range in price from $110 to $990. All but one of the pieces — a blue Pachamama sweater that Missoni's grandmother bought for her in London — are Missoni, and many of them have a special significance for her. In the video below, Missoni highlights a sweater that reminds her of New York and an evening gown she wore on the first work trip she took with her future husband. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to OrphanAid Africa, a children's charity Missoni has supported for nearly a decade.

"Sometimes life has really been too generous with me, and this is definitely the case with clothes," Missoni says. "But now it's time to release them and the energy which surrounds them. If I didn't, I would need life to be just as generous in terms of closet space, homes, and even more patience from my husband."

A look at some of the pieces from the sale here in the gallery.
