Is that Holly Golightly we see? For Giulietta's Pre-Fall 2013 collection, Sofia Sizzi looked to Audrey Hepburn's wardrobe in Breakfast at Tiffany's for inspiration. Sizzi was already a fan of simple '60s silhouettes, but she freshened them up with gradient jewel prints and light-handed embellishments. A bright pink short-sleeved dress with a full crinoline skirt made for some serious fun, and so did her homage to Golightly's cat, who got immortalized in a green-and-black print.

Dream Memes: Fashion Gets Funny in 2012
Perry Ellis once said that "fashion dies when it is taken too seriously," but if the social commentary the industry has gotten this year is any indication, there's no danger of that happening anytime soon. In fact, if the memes spawned in 2012 say anything, it's that the public's interest in fashion has never been so high. A look at some of the best examples — from Balenciaga Did It First to Your LL Bean Boyfriend — here in the gallery.
Vera Wang Pre-Fall 2013
The line between dressing for the office and dressing for the opera gets obscured by rich damasks, fur trimmings, and gobs of costume jewelry in Vera Wang's Pre-Fall 2013 collection.
br>
The offering is heavy on the kind of sparkle generally associated with dressing for a special occasion, but applied to clothing that would otherwise look like daywear. A shift dress cut from a shiny orange and gray jacquard looked utterly luxurious paired with leather elbow-length gloves, but the suit trimmed with silk ruffles at the shoulders turns up the glamour in a different and unexpected way.

Calvin Klein Collection Pre-Fall 2013
"The future is about new construction," said Francisco Costa after the Pre-Fall 2013 presentation for Calvin Klein. "You have to show something new."
br>
What's new at this brand is a focus on generous proportions. Costa put rounded shoulders on generous coats belted at the waist like robes, and let slim skirts and dresses fall below the knee. Some of the looks were paired with turtlenecks or dickies (and a few were made from shaved mink), which gave the show a monastic feeling.
br>
Not that there wasn't a little kink, too. One of those coats was cut from a shiny light-brown vinyl, and there were a few pieces — like a sleeveless shirt with a peplum and an overcoat — made from black leather.

Why Should Karl Lagerfeld Slow Down, Asks Karl Lagerfeld
Karl Lagerfeld has said in the past that he has no plans to retire, and now he says he sees no reason to scale back the projects he takes on.
"I think I'm very lucky that I have all those projects, the possibility to do things in such great condition," Lagerfeld told the BBC. "Why should I slow down? What a bore! That is commonplace to think that people have to slow down and [not] burn out. You know, I have a very healthy life. I don't smoke, I don't eat too much, I don't drink, I never take drugs. So, my head is like a crystal ball and I have no need of slowing down."
He added that the reason the luxury business can't slow down, either, is because it responds to desires consumers can't control.
"We create a product nobody needs, but people want," he argues. "If you need an ugly old car, it can wait, but if you want a new fashion item, it cannot wait."
December's Mag Covers Take 2012 Out With a Bang (New Added!)
If the holidays really are the most wonderful time of the year, then by all logic December's magazine covers should offer some of the best photographs of 2012. So far, this month's crop of glossy imagery isn't disappointing: Marion Cotillard looks stunning swaddled in red silk on the cover of Harper's Bazaar UK, while Taylor Swift makes refreshingly monochromatic appearances on the covers of Elle Canada and American Bazaar. But let's not forget the models — Candice Swanepoel looks hauntingly beautiful on the cover of 10 Magazine, and Kate Moss's enduring beauty graces the covers of Elle Japan and Vanity Fair.
A look at the December covers we've seen so far, here in the gallery.
