Prada Shoulder Bag Summer 2012

Prada's newest release blends streamlined functionality with the season's carefree mood for an updated shoulder satchel that's anything but plain. And though the vivid hues — red, orange, blue, and purple — may feel just right for right now, the classic hunting-bag-inspired shape and rustic hardware detailing mean these little beauties can go straight through to Fall with utter ease.

Priced at $1,595, the bags hit stores in the US, United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong in June. Until then, see them up close here.

  • Elle UK is turning over the production of its October issue to a group of yet-to-be-hired interns. The magazine has 10 open positions, from art director to news editor right up to editor in chief. "We're keen to show our appreciation for the invaluable support that interns provide," the magazine's editors said in a statement. "We also know it's tough out there, and want to help the next generation of fashion and media stars launch vibrant careers." [Elle UK]

  • What kind of a dwelling do you spend your weekends in? Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler say they often while away their Saturdays and Sundays in a tepee on their property in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. "What can we say?" Hernandez asked. [The New York Times]

  • Shalom Harlow stars in the newest installment of Alexander Wang's Confessions series, in which she talks about getting her start as a model — and about returning to the runway for Wang's Fall 2012 show. "I do feel some nerves, and I do feel the height of those shoes. I hope I don't slip," she says in the video. [Style.com]

  • Victoria Beckham says she realizes she can look depressed in photos when she doesn't smile but that she really isn't as unhappy as she looks. "I don't feel like I have to scream and shout about it — I know I am a happy person. So I don't get upset when people comment on the fact that I look quite miserable all the time." [Fashionista]

Giejo For Barneys New York

Swimwear line Giejo may be just a few months old, but already it's garnered quite the following. In fact, it seems everyone — from The New York Times to The Zoe Report to W — has recently sung its praises. And no wonder: in flattering cuts, clever color combos, and quirky prints, these bikini separates are not just chic, they're also the ultimate in mix-and-match wearability. "The Giejo girl is fashion-forward, ready to make a statement, and isn't afraid of trying new things," designer Gabby Sabharwal explains. "She just wants to have fun."

Now, thanks to an exclusive collaboration with Barneys, there is even more statement-making fun to be had. In stores and online now, the capsule comprises five tops and five bottoms in a bevy of eye-catching, Barneys-only prints. There's a vaguely '80s coral-hued "Aztec" print, a delicate chartreuse mini floral, a neon lace overlay, and — for the classicists — a crisp black and white stripe. "I cannot believe that now when I walk into Barneys my collection is listed on the directory," Sabharwal says. "It is truly an honor and one that I will cherish for the rest of my life."

Is Bar Refaeli Dating Shaun White?

They say springtime makes young men think of love, and professional snowboarder Shaun White appears to have focused his attentions on supermodel Bar Refaeli.

They say springtime makes young men think of love, and professional snowboarder Shaun White appears to have focused his attentions on supermodel Bar Refaeli.

White and Refaeli, who recently took the No. 1 spot on Maxim's annual Hot 100 list, were reportedly spotted "dancing, hugging, and kissing" at the Sway nightclub in New York City over the weekend.

White arrived earlier in the evening with a group of friends and later was seen "pacing, going outside and checking his cell." Refaeli came to join the small group shortly afterward, and the two are said to have spent most of the rest of the evening "all over each other." White later walked Refaeli out of the club, then headed back inside to keep the party going with his friends.

Refaeli dated actor Leonardo DiCaprio for five years before they broke up last May. She's currently the face of her own lingerie line, under.me.

France Unveils New Anticounterfeiting Ads

"Buy a fake Cartier, get a genuine criminal record" — that's the warning one of France's new anticounterfeiting ads will send when it's displayed at airports this Summer.
French Anti-Counterfeiting Ad Campaign

"Buy a fake Cartier, get a genuine criminal record" — that's the warning one of France's new anticounterfeiting ads will send when it's displayed at airports this Summer.

In addition to Cartier, six other luxury brands (Chanel, Christian Dior, Lacoste, Longchamp, Louis Vuitton, and Van Cleef & Arpels) created visuals for the campaign, which is backed by the French luxury goods association Comitè Colbert and the French National Anti-Counterfeiting Committee, or CNAC. The ads will be installed at 18 of France's busiest airports to warn tourists of the dangers of buying replica luxury goods.

France counts possession of fake designer goods as a criminal offense, and owning a knockoff Dior bag can be punished by fines of up to €300,000 (just over $300,000 at current exchange) or a three-year prison sentence. Despite these harsh punishments, counterfeiting still costs French luxury houses $7.5 billion in lost revenue every year.

"Every time you buy a fake Lacoste, a fake Longchamp, a fake Chanel, you are shooting yourself in the foot on the values you hold dear," said Dior CEO Sidney Toledano.

Karl Lagerfeld Explains Why He "Doesn't Believe in Massage"

Because he works so tirelessly, it would be natural to think of Karl Lagerfeld as someone who might indulge in a relaxing massage every now and then — but it would also be wrong.

Because he works so tirelessly, it would be natural to think of Karl Lagerfeld as someone who might indulge in a relaxing massage every now and then — but it would also be wrong.

Lagerfeld attended the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala in Cannes last week, where one of the lots auctioned off was a massage from supermodel Heidi Klum. But Lagerfeld said that it doesn't matter who's giving the massage — "nobody" is allowed to put their hands on him.

"I hate massage and I don't believe in massage. I hate to be touched," he said, adding that he also wouldn't give anyone a massage himself. "I'm not John Travolta."

But even if Lagerfeld did like a little shiatsu here and there, it's a good thing he didn't bid on Klum's massage session. The model admitted that she's not a good masseuse. "And my nails are really long, so it's going to hurt," Klum said.
